It’s beginning to look a lot like…

…time to put the leftovers to good use. I guess someone will be enjoying the extra calories on a busy night of the 24th. As for these party leftovers, lets just say in the battle of Adam and all-you-can-eat Christmas party buffet, the latter came out on top.

Highlights? Dad’s Macaroons and some classic dark chocolate cookies with chocolate chips. Oh wait, can’t forget the chocolate chip oatmeal raisin or the classic shortbreads. But then there was that sandwich cookie thing with the cream filling and pistachios on top… yikes, you get the point. The fat man doesn’t come down the chimney for another week, but I’m betting you’ve been baking (and eating) your share of holiday cookies. Anyone got any favorites? New discoveries? Old, dare I say, fruitcake?

My grandmother’s cookies! I’m not a huge cookie fan but I looooove every kind she makes and look forward to them all year.

My family is Italian, and we eat the classics: pizzelles, rum cookies, etc. But my favorite are the soft orange ricotta cookies. I can eat those all day!

Danish butter cookies, the ones that come in those tin cans and appear most frequently during the holidays, are probably my favorite store bought cookies! I always seem to devour the rectangular shaped ones first despite all of them tasting somewhat similar.

The Christmas cookies from Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, nj are by far the very best. Have to get a full batch to share with the family every Christmas and save some for Santa to.

The powdered wedding cookings, a white, chocolate covered mix called white trash, [sooomg so good], sweet spiced nuts and I have a new favorite my neighbor just gave us – they are brownies type cookies made in muffin tins with reeses in the middle. Surprise! YUM.

We are done baking and eating treats until Christmas day when we pull out the stash – otherwise we ate or gave away all we have. :)

Your cookies look wonderful Adam. Lucky you!
