I guess the real question is, will they serve it on a donut for you? FYI — the Smokehouse Sausage Breakfast Sandwich boasts 550 calories, 36 grams of fat (13 saturated) and 1510 mg of sodium. But hey, it’s still a better option than Hardee’s Hillshire Farms-inspired Smoked Sausage Biscuit with Egg and Cheese, right?
This actually didn’t taste that bad. The problem was the texture. The sausage looks like it should have a nice snap to the casing, but mine was just mushy in texture. I don’t know what they did to the sausage to make it like that.

2I think this would sell really well in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, there are no Dunkin Donuts here outside of Milwaukee and Madison.
We had them all over the place when I was a kid.
3It just looks…wrong. Why couldn’t they get Hillshire farms to make it into a patty for them? I feel like the links would fall out every time you took a bite.

5Ewww… Just ate my first bite. Has a hotdog flavor and aroma to it. Disappointing.
6Yep, the sausage tastes like a hotdog, not a breakfast sausage. And it stays in place aided by the melted cheese glue until the last few bites when it got loose. Disappointing, and definitely not as tasty as the picture would have you believe, as most fastfood pictures that lie. Had to try, but won’t again.

Like many of DD’s food choices, trying to find healthy *and* tasty breakfast choices there is about as hard as trying to find an politician in Washington.
