Food News: $1 BK Breakfast Muffin Coming Soon
Modeled after the McDonald’s Egg McMuffin, Burger King plans to release the $1.00 BK Breakfast Muffin later this month. Tentatively scheduled for March 22nd. A head to head comparison may be in the offing. Stay tuned.
I’d eat it without the egg [just like my McMuffin] especially for a buck. What does McDs charge? Is theirs on the $1 menu?
1Is that (a promotional picture of) the real thing? They’re not just throwing a single ingredient on there and calling it a sandwich like at McDonald’s? The value menu arms race just got a whole lot more interesting!

Now all they need to do is fix their fries and they will be awesome. An assortment of fresh toppings you can choose, ala Five Guys/The Whopper Bar/Harvey’s in Canada would be great. What about banana peppers? I’d love to see that more on burgers!
4Interesting, especially with the recent revelations that breakfast sales at FF places are down almost accross the board. I’d rather BK tried to do a take on hotcakes — I love McDonalds hotcakes.
5Hmmm…Not a bad idea. I love the McMuffin but I’m more of a Canadian Bacon kind of guy rather than sausage.
6Looks good to me, I don’t like the egg in the McMuffin, the BK one looks less eggy.
7this is quite a good value for just $1.. meat, egg (looks like just one egg, as opposed to two) and cheese.

11I had three of these last weekend and they were excellent. Great substitute for the croissant’wich at a much cheaper price. I went home full and happy!

13I just tried one this morning and let me say that it was absolutely horrible. There was little egg, the sausage was low quality, but the worst part of all was the amount of butter they put on the bread. I had butter dripping off my fingers.
14I just tried one myself and I will never buy another. Was absolutely tasteless…if it weren’t for the pepper, a slice of cardboard would have had more taste. Muffin was greasy, egg tasted synthetic, sausage was just texture, nothing else. I will go for the McDonald’s sausage egg mcmuffin any day. Sorry King, you must have stolen the wrong recipe…
15I love these and have had to ration myself from getting these as often I want to. A nice change from the PB&J sandwiches I was eating. My husband hated them for the reasons that others have stated.
