Who Has The Best Drive-Thru Service?

October 01, 2009 By: Ryan Category: Observations

From QSR Mag:

For the sixth time in the Drive-Thru Performance Study’s 12-year history, Chick-fil-A ranked No. 1 overall. Of the 20 brands surveyed during the four-month-long test, Chick-fil-A scored highest, earning 17.8 and placing No. 1 in two of the four categories tested.

In addition to ranking No. 1 overall, Chick-fil-A also offered customers the friendliest service during the study, meaning it had the highest percentage of crew members who said “please” and “thank you,” smiled, made eye contact, and had a pleasant demeanor.

I’m in the group that would vote Chick-fil-A the winner every year.  I’ve used their drive-thru in multiple States and never have I encountered a bad experience.  I’m ready to hear your horror stories and your great experiences.  So in your opinion…Who has the best drive-thru service?

We are now in my favorite month of the year, October.  The weather is crisp and cool here in Maryland and for you sports fans you’ve got the NFL in full swing, the start of the hockey season, MLB playoffs and the NBA getting underway later on in the month.  A new month means a lot of different things and if you’re familiar with GrubGrade you also know that we’re here to bring you news of the new Blizzard of the Month from Dairy Queen.  So for the start of a new season, Dairy Queen is offering a taste of October with the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard.  A Small Pumpkin Pie Blizzard will set you back 570 calories and 20 grams of fat.

Food News: Buffalo Whatachick’n Sandwich from Whataburger

October 01, 2009 By: Ryan Category: Food News

It really looks like America wants more spicy doesn’t it?  Taco Bell’s Volcano Menu and the Burger King Angry Sandwiches have been going strong for a while now.  More recently (as in this week) we gave you some first impressions of the SweetFire Chicken from Panda Express and the Spicy & Sweet Habanero Oven Baked Sandwich from Domino’s.  Oh and I almost forgot to mention the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich from Subway.  I’d like to cool off with something frosty (stay tuned later today) but the spicy grub just keeps rolling in.  This time from Whataburger and their limited-time offering (until November 9th) called the Buffalo Whatachick’n Sandwich.

Whataburger Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

This breaded chicken sandwich is topped with lettuce, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese, a couple slices of bacon and buffalo sauce on a toasted wheat bun. You’ll shell out $4.19 for the sandwich alone and a couple bucks extra to make it a combo.  The bacon seems like overkill to me and where’s the ranch/bleu cheese dressing?  At least the Buffalo sauce seems to be a creamier version than what we’re probably used to.
