Hershey Park Part II: Market Place Shops at Hershey’s Chocolate World

August 01, 2009 By: Heather Category: Hitting the Road

Hershey Park Part I took you on Hershey’s Great American Chocolate Tour.  This second installment is a continuation of Hershey’s Chocolate World, and will take you on a tour of Hershey’s Market Place Shops.

Market Place Shops

As you finish up your chocolate tour, and walk down the ramp, you get a birds eye view of the shops below.

Birdseye view

The Market Place Shops have just about everything you can imagine.  The gift shop carries clothing and stuffed animals, coffee cups to every kind of candy that Hershey makes.   They also have a food court that serves pizza, sandwiches, soups etc.  I was there too early so the food court hadn’t opened for the day.  While you are strolling around…there are areas to purchase baked goods such as brownies and cookies…and an ice cream and milkshake spot too. I didn’t spend too much time in the gift shop area, as I was more interested in the candy section.  There is more candy in this place than you could ever imagine.

If you are a true chocolate lover, you will be in heaven.   They have shelves upon shelves of their chocolate, in all shapes, sizes and quantities.  Prices appear to be reduced slightly from the stores, but the main advantage to buying your candy here, is that it is fresh.  The candy is made right there in Hershey, PA.

Perhaps you are more of a peanut butter lover.   Don’t worry, they have you covered here as well.  From your basic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to Peanut Butter Syrup that you can pour over your favorite ice cream.

Or maybe you like the other variety of chocolates that Hershey is famous for.  Whatever your desire, if it’s a Hershey brand candy, you will find it here.

I’m sure you are wondering, what about the most famous of Hershey candy.  The Hershey Kiss.  Well, you can get every type of Kiss that Hershey makes.  The prices for the Kisses were 4 bags for $12.00.

Ok, so you aren’t a chocolate lover (do they exist?)  Hershey’s makes more than chocolate.   How about some hard candy or maybe some licorice?

You definitely need to know what your heart desires before you enter Hershey’s Chocolate World.  There are so many options that you may have trouble deciding what you want.  Oh yeah, if you plan on buying a lot of chocolate, you may want to bring a cooler or plan on stopping back in before you head home.   Especially if you don’t want melted chocolate.

While you are there, check out the new Kit Kat Café where you can get some candy at a discounted rate:

  5. Congratulations to Bear Silber for being the first person to get all of the questions right. Thank you to everyone else who commented.

@Bear, I was there at 9:30am before the actual park opened. The chocolate tour itself only takes about 15-20 min. I did stop back in before I went home to buy candy, it was probably around 9pm, but I basically bought the candy I wanted and headed out. Tired after a fun day of rides. :)
